In his second fight for the promotion, Makhachev faced Mansour Barnaoui, on April 9, 2013 at M-1 Challenge 38. Makhachev faced undefeated Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu black belt Rander Junio on August 21, 2013 at M-1 Challenge 41. Makhachev faced M-1 Global Yuri Ivlev on June 7, 2014 at M-1 Challenge 49.
On September 7, 2014, in his final bout for M-1 Global before signing with the UFC, Makhachev defeated Ivica Truscek via submission.
Ultimate Fighting Championship
On October 2, 2014 Makhachev signed a four-fight contract with the UFC. Makhachev faced Leo Kuntz on May 23, 2015 at UFC 187. Makhachev faced Adriano Martins at UFC 192 on October 3, 2015.
He lost the fight via knockout in the first round. Makhachev is expected to face Drew Dober on April 16, 2016 at UFC on Fox 19.

Makhachev made his M-1 Global debut against Tengiz Khuchua on February 12, 2011 and won the fight via KO in the first round. He won via unanimous decision. He won via submission in the second round. Combat Sambo World champion Combat Sambo Russian National champion (four time) Russian Nationals Champion 2016 (World Team Trails-FIAS) North Caucasian Federal District national champion.
