Ivan Timofeevich Artemyev was born on October 1,1917 in Azovka village, according to other sources, the Zavodsky village of Bobrovsky district and was killed on June 26,1944 in the air battle near the village of Slaveni, Tolochin district, Vitebsk region, Belorussian SSR. During the Great Patriotic War he was the commander of the aviation unit of the 115th Guards Fighter Aviation Regiment.
