Ivan BOK, USSR Geologist. Professor 1948; full member, Kazakhstan Academy of Sciences, since 1954; associate, Institute of Geology Science, Kazakhstan Academy of Sciences, since 1946; Honoured Worker of Science and Technology of Kazakh Soviet Socialist Republic since 1954.
BOK, Ivan was born in 1898.
1928 graduated Ural Polytechn. Institute, Sverdlovsk.
Until 1936 worked for Ural Geology Board. 1936-1938 in Kazakhstan Geology Trust, Semipalatinsk. 1938-1946 at Institute of Geology Science, Kazakhstan Branch, USSR Academy of Science.
Simultaneously instructor, Sverdlovsk Mining Institute, then Kazakhstan Mining and Metallurgical Institute. 1957 participated in mineralogical expedition in Northern and Central Kazakhstan. Discovered several mineral deposits of nickel, cobalt, asbestos, etc.
Helped compile metallogenetic and prognostic map of Kazakhstan.
