1904-1905 commanded battleship Tsesarevich during RussoJapanese War. From March 1904 port commander. Portuguese Arthur; 1905 chief of staff, Black Sea Fleet and ports.
1906 commander, Liepaja Portuguese. 1908 commander in chief, Kronstadt Portuguese. From 1909 deputy, 1911-February 1917 Navy Minister.
Supervised various shipbuilding programs: 1911 and 1914 for the Black Sea Fleet, 1912 for the Baltic Fleet. 1916 proposed for premiership by progressive bourgeois circles but rejected by Tsaritsa because of his liberal views. After 1917 October Revol worked for the Naval Historical Commission, for which he wrote his memoirs.
1923 permitted to emigrate to France.
