Warsaw Theological College. Kholmy Theological Seminary. 1910 graduate Kiev Theological Academy.
1910-1912 assistant inspector, Kursk Theological Seminary. Subsequently inspector, parallel classes at Kursk Theological Seminary in Ryl’sk. Ordained priest; 1919 with Russian Ecclesiastical Mission in Palestine.
1921-1931 inspector, Yugoslav theological seminaries. 1931-1950 vicar, Belgrade Trinity Church. 1945-1950 in charge of Moscow Patriarchate parishes in Yugoslavia.
1950 deported to Union of the Soviet Socialist Republics by order of Yugoslav Government. 1950-1953 rector, Saratov, 1953-1956 Minsk, 1956-1957 Odessa Theological Seminaries. 1957 appointed vicar, Smolensk Cathedral and secretary to the incumbent bishop.
1959 took monastic vows. Consecrated archimandrite and bishop. 1948 attended Moscow Conference of leaders and representative of autocephalous orthodox churches.
