Gardin on Как Khoroshi Как Svezhi Byli Rozy, Ukhod Velikogo Siartsa (about the death of L. Tolstoy), Kliuchi Shchast'ia, Kreitserova Sonata, and Voina i Mir.
Started making his own films using his own scripts: Liven’, 1929, Perekop, 1930, Shturmovye Nochi, 1931, Koliivshchina, 1933, and Prometei, 1935. Guliashchaia, 1961, was his last film.
