Ivan Lamanov, USSR State security official.


Lamanov, Ivan was born in 1898 in near Khar’kov. Son of a peasant.


Graduated from the Frunze Military Academy in 1928.


Joined the Bolshevik Party in 1917. Fought against Denikin during the Civil War, 1918-1920. Joined the border guards and Cheka detachments in 1922.

Deputy head of the GPU forces in Central Asia, fighting against local anti-communist partisans (basmachi). Awarded the medal Pochetnyi Chekist (Honorary Cheka Man).


No religious basis is needed in order to display ethical behavior.


The emphasis on peaceful coexistence doesn’t mean that the Soviet Union accepted a static world with clear lines. Socialism is inevitable and the "correlations of forces" were moving towards socialism.
