Studied at Med Faculty, Khar’kov University. 1908 graduate St. Petersburg Military Med Academy.
1903 arrested for involvement in student political movement. Active in 1905-1907 Revol in St. Petersburg. Summer 1906 went to Paris and Geneva for medical treatment.
Returned to Russia and arrested for his connection with the Avladar Printing Press case. From 1908 practised medical in Transcaspian Oblast. 1914-1917 military surgeon with army in the field.
1917 chairman, Vladikavkaz Russian Social-Democratic Workers ’Party (Bolsheviks) Committee and chairman, Vladikavkaz Soviet of Workers and Soldiers’ Deputy. October 1917—May 1920 member, Caucasian Kray Russian Social-Democratic Workers ’Party (Bolsheviks) Committee. Chairman, Central Committee, Communist Party Geo and member, Caucasian Bureau, Central Committee, Russian Communist Party (Bolsheviks).
1921-1925, after establishment of Soviet regime in Geo, chairman, Geo Revol Committee. Secretary, Central Committee, Communist Party (Bolsheviks) Geo. Deputy chairman, Geo Council of People’s Commissar.
Chairman, Transcaucasian SFSR Council of People’s Commissar. 1923-1925 deputy chairman, USSR Council of People’s Commissar. 1926-1929 first secretary, Transcaucasian Kray All-Union Communist Party (Bolsheviks) Committee.
Also ed-in-chief, newspaper “Zarya Vostoka”. 1930 member, editorial board, newspaper „Pravda”, Moscow. From January 1931 again chairman, Transcaucasian SFSR Council of People’s Commissar.
Then first secretary, Transcaucasian Kray All-Union Communist Party (Bolsheviks) Committee. 1932-1937 deputy director, Institute of Marx-Engels-Lenin, Central Committee, All-Union Communist Party (Bolsheviks). At 12th—14th Party Congresses elected candidate member, and at 15th and 16th Congresses elected member, Central Committee, All-Union Communist Party (Bolsheviks).
At 17th Party Congress elected member, Centr Auditing Commission. Wrote numerous works on Party history and socialist construction in Geo and Transcaucasia. Arrested by State Security organs.
As long as the public believes in religion, they will not attempt to make any genuine effort to understand and overcome the real source of their suffering.
Communist party could initiate policies in the name of the society because it knows what the best is for its progress and development.
