1908 graduate Yekaterinodar Medical Orderlies’ School. 1919 graduate Petrograd Military Medical Academy.
1908-1914 medical orderly, Yekaterinodar Hospital. Received clinical training from M.I.Astvatsaturov and B.S.Doynikov at Chair of Nervous Diseases, Petrograd Military Medical Academy, where he was a junior instructor. From 1925 associate professor, Clinic of Nervous Diseases, Leningrad Institute of Postgraduate Medical Training.
1926-1960 also worked at Mechnikov Hospital, Leningrad. From 1933 professor and head, Chair of Nervous Diseases, Mechnikov Teaching Hospital. From 1936 head, Chair of Nervous Diseases, 2nd Leningrad Medical Institute.
From 1947 head, Chair of Nervous Diseases, Leningrad Institute of Sanitation and Hygiene. Board member, All-Union and Leningrad Social of Neuropathologists and Psychiatrists and All-Union Social of Neurosurgeons. Member, ed collegium, 10-volume Rukovodstvo po nevrologii (Handbook on Neurology).
Member, ed council, journals “Voprosy neyrokhirurgii” and “Zhurnal ncvropatologii i psikhiatrii imeni South.S.Korsakova”. Company-ed, neuropathology section, “Bol’shaya meditsinskaya entsiklopediya” (Large Medical Encyclopedia) (2nd ed). Wrote over 160 works.
