After graduating from Moscow Conservatory in the early 80s, he taught composition and orchestral score reading there, while also promoting new music in concerts in and around Moscow. Later, in the 90s, he traveled to various countries in Europe, presenting his and other composers" piano compositions to various types of audiences, at concerts and workshops. His own compositional style draws on many influences of our time, including elements that remind of the work of John Cage.
He is a member of the Russian-German Composers Quartet with Sokolov and Alexei Aigui from Moscow and Dietmar Bonnen and Manfred Niehaus from Cologne.
