Graduate Saint St. Petersburg Tcchnol Institute.
From 1921 taught at various higher educational establishments, including the Leningrad Polytech Institute. During 1920 criticized prevalent methods of calculation for hydraulic machinery and advocated the use of hydrodynamic methods. During 1930's, after solving the problem of two-dimensional hydromech and developing the basis for the solution of three-dimensional hydromech, devised a new theory of hydroturbines along with methods of calculation.
1935, together with a team of engineering, designed and built powerful and economical propeller pumps. Extended the classical theory of machine-speed regulation to the regulation of any other unitary parameters. Developed a theory of linked autonomous control for turbines in distr heating plants, which he subsequently generalized for any machine and any quantity of regulable parameters.
Company-founder, 1.1. Polzunov Boiler and Turbine Institute.
