Education
1941 completed secondary school.
Career
From 1932 lived with his family in Krasnodon, Lugansk Oblast. After completing school worked as Pioneer leader. Fall 1942, after German occupation of Krasnodon, formed an underground youth group which later became the nucleus of the “Young Guard” underground organisation.
Staff member, Young Guard. Took part in its operations against German occupation troops. Organized underground printing press and wrote a number of leaflets.
Arrested by German military authorities.
