1903-1926 did research on nitrogen and hydrogen interaction with metals. Studied colloidal chemistry, particularly electrokinetic phenomena in dispersed systems for the purpose of water purification. Developed theory and means of measuring electrokinetic potential, coagulation of hydrophobic colloids by electrolytes, et cetera
Established the importance of the surface conductivity of dispersed and, particularly, capilaary-porous systems in electroosmotic phenomena. Made detailed physicochemical study of Soviet synthetic rubbers.
Religion is bad because it obstructs scientific research.
Marxism–Leninism as the only truth could not, by its very nature, become outdated.
