Ivan Yakovlevich Lerche was born on December 17, 1708 in Potsdam, Brandenburg, Germany.

Education

In 1730 Ivan Yakovlevich graduated from Galle University with the degree of doctor. In 1731 he served in the military in Russia.

Career

In 1731 Ivan Yakovlevich served in the military in Russia. During the 1730-1740s he managed to monitor meteorological observations in Moscow, Astrakhan, Kharkiv, Voronezh, Azov, Tambov and many other places. He was the first explorer came to Voronezh (roughly in 1738-1740).

During the Russian-Turkish war 1735-1739 Ivan Yakovlevich was appointed the command post doctor General and was relocated to Azov. In 1741 he was on the books of General land hospital in St. Petersburg. In 1742 during the Russian-Swedish war he battle on the side of the General Field Marshal P.P. Lassi.

In 1744 Ivan Yakovlevich was an interim head of medical office. He was a stadt-physicist and the head of medical office in Moscow (1750), stadt-physicist in St. Petersburg and the board of director member of the Medical secretariat (1751). In 1760-1763 Ivan Yakovlevich was present at the Medical secretariat.
