Iwakichi Tsujii executed paintings on pottery which he gave up for a stage career. Later he took to himself the name Tsuruya Danjuro and joined the Kairyoza Theater, Osaka, where he soon gained the reputation of being a first-class comedian. The Japanese actor is known for "Imori no kuroyaki" (1908), a 3-scene film comedy.
