He graduated from Staff Officers College.
Career
After graduating from Staff Officers College was commissioned into the Imperial Army and saw office as commander of 11th Division.; commander-in-chief of Japanese Garrison in Formosa; military councilor; promoted general in 1933 and was for many years military attache first in France and then in China; supreme commander in Shanghai area in 1937, and it was during his rule that the outrages of Nanking took place; councilor in the Cabinet in 1938. After World War II was sentenced and hanged to death as a war criminal by the International Military Tribunal.
