Studied at Private School, London. Pupil of Drury and Lovejoy, architects, London.
After practising a short time, left England for Canada. Shortly after arrival was associated with the Architectural branch of Dominion Government at Ottawa, and for 15 years Assistant Architect. Associate Royal Cambrian Academy 1880.
Curator of the National Gallery of Canada, and as such had charge of the Canadian Art Exhibit at Colonial Exhibition.
Treasurer of Architectural Institute of Canada. Frequent exhibitor at Canadian Academy exhibitions in oil and water-colour. R.C.A. 1881; ArtistArchitect.
