This seventy-four page issue of the playbill for the Marquis Theatre (March 1995) documents the Broadway revival of DAMN YANKEES after it opened with the legendary Jerry Lewis, making his Broadway debut after sixty years of being in show business. Most of the 1994 revival cast stayed with the show, including Jarrod Emick, who won a Tony Award for his performance of Joe Hardy. Charlotte d'Amboise replaced Bebe Neuwirth as Lola. Program contents include a title page with credits, a black/white production photo of the cast performing "Shoeless Joe," head shots of the actors, cast information, musical numbers, "Who's Who" - including a piece about Mr. Lewis written by Walter Anderson (the editor of PARADE Magazine), full staff, and complete credits. Features (illustrated with color and black/white photographs) include articles about Jerry Lewis, the revival of HOW TO SUCCEED IN BUSINESS WITHOUT REALLY TRYING (starring Matthew Broderick and Megan Mullally), the fourth anniversary of MISS SAIGON on Broadway, and the consummate actor Tom Courtenay. Popular monthly columns (such as Theatre Quiz - with photos based on the stage career of Angela Lansbury, At This Theatre, A Theatregoer's Notebook, and more) complete this issue, which will particularly appeal to fans of Jerry Lewis and Broadway musicals.
