Career
In 2010, Murphy had several major milestones. He appeared on Fox & Friends to review the upcoming Oscars nominees, correctly predicting all of the winners in the major categories (except for last year). He grabbed the attention of several celebrities, notably Roger Ebert.
Murphy made numerous national television appearances during the summer, including Weekend Today in late June and The Early Show four different times.
He was blasted by Howard Stern on his satellite radio show following one of his appearances on The Early Show for his review of Inception. Murphy was signed by Columbia Broadcasting System as a contributing critic to The Early Show and, in the fall, also became a regular contributor on The Morning Show on the Seven Network in Australia.
His movie reviews also appear every weekend in The (Troy) Record newspaper, and he has been the subject of articles and stories in both the United States. and internationally, including an article in Variety. In July 2011, Jackson became a regular contributor for the popular movie review show Ebert Presents: At the Movies.
Thus far, Murphy has appeared on three episodes of the program, providing commentary on 3-Doctorate film technology and listing his best and worst movies of the year so far.
Since November 2013, Jackson also has regularly appeared (via telephone) on "The Buttery Popcorn Report" on The FLY 92.3 in Albany, New York, as a part of the station"s "Morning Rush". On The Buttery Popcorn Report, Jackson gives his opinions on all the new movies out in theaters every week and also on Digital Video Disc and Blu-ray. In 2015, he appeared on the Today Show in Australia.
In 2010, Howard Stern lambasted Jackson Murphy on his radio show, opining that Murphy was too young and inexperienced to formulate meaningful or valid criticism.
Since then, Murphy has been frequently criticized by the public and media. Matt Cherette of gawker.com described Murphy"s Inception (2010) review as "insufferable."
Chiwetel Ejiofor tweet
In July 2015, Murphy tweeted a picture of himself with 12 Years a Slave star Chiwetel Ejiofor with the caption "Happy birthday to my man Chiwetel Ejiofor.

In January of 2016 Murphy tweeted a picture of himself with comedian Amy Schumer at the 2016 Critics" Choice Movie Awards during which he wrote "Spent the night with amyschumer.
Certainly not the first guy to write that." Though he initially denied that he had intended anything sexual from his tweet, the comment drew ire from Schumer causing Murphy to delete his tweet and later apologize in the wake of media criticism.
