Career
This was awarded to recognize extreme battlefield bravery or successful military leadership by Nazi Germany during World World War World War II Fick was the commander of the I.Battalion, Steamship Langemark Regiment, Das Reich Division when he was awarded the Knight"s Cross in April 1943. He later went on to command the 37th Steamship Panzer Grenadier Regiment in the 17th Steamship Panzergrenadier Division Götz von Berlichingen. He was also in command of the Division for 4 days in March 1945.
Fick survived the war and later changed his name to Jacob Briehl Fick.
