Jacques Z. Baruch was born on January 6, 1922 in Warsaw, Poland.
Jacques Baruch received his education in his native city, completing a degree in fine arts at the Academy of Fine Arts and studying Architecture at the Polytechnica. He considers Le Corbusier his mentor.
Since 1967 Jacques Baruch has been partner and co-director of the Jacques Baruch Gallery in Chicago. He was responsible for assembling the show "Contemporary Czechoslovakian Printmakers," by the Smithsonian Institution Traveling Exhibition Service (1979-1981). As a dealer he specialized in Eastern European award-winning graphics, internationally renowned tapestry and fiber artworks from Europe and the United States, photography, paintings and Art Nouveau pieces.
Jacques Baruch is a member of the Print and Drawing Club of the Art Institute in Chicago and joined the Chicago Art Dealers Association in 1967 and the Association of International Photography Art Dealers in 1979.
