Jacques Busse was born on December 22, 1922 in Vincennes, Ile-de-France, France. He was the son of Robert Busse and Marguerite Bourgeois.
Initially, the painter was educated at the Lycée Charlemagne. In 1942 Jacques enrolled in the Académie de la Grande Chaumière, where he studied under the guidance of Othon Friesz.
In 1945, Jacques participated in the first Salon de Mai. Beginning from 1958 until his death, the painter exhibited at the Salon des Réalités Nouvelles.
Jacques Busse also served as a teacher at the Académie de la Grande Chaumière in 1961 and later at other schools of fine arts in Nancy, Marseille, Limoges et Dijon.
During the period from 1972 to 1984 he lectured at Paris-Sorbonne University.
Since 1974 Busse held the post of the assistant at the General Inspectorate of Arts Education.
The painter's works were exhibited in Paris, Marseille, Milan, Frankfurt am Main, Saarlouis, Tokyo, Geneva and other cities.
Jacques also translated such works, as Les Chansons du Gibet, Palmström, Palma Kunkel and others.
Jacques married Miss Jeanne Bodineau (his second wife) on October 7, 1959. Busse had two children — Julien and Guillaume (the child from the first marriage).
