He became a member of the Bharatiya Jana Sangh in 1952 and elected to Rajasthan Legislative Assembly for 1957-1962 term. Later he represented Sikar in 6th Lok Sabha and became a member of the Rajya Sabha, the upper house of the Indian parliament from 3-4-1970 to 2-4-1976.
