Career
Crespo is best known for the underground comic strips Tales From the Edge of Hell and Slice O" Life/Slices, as well as the comic books Narcolepsy Dreams and Numb Skull. He is currently the creator of the comic book Tortilla and is working on his first graphic novel Turk Street Serenade, an account of his time as a janitor/maintenance man at a San Francisco Single Room Occupancy hotel in the mid-1980’son His work has appeared in numerous publications such as the San Francisco Bay Guardian, the North Bay Bohemian, Snicker, X-Ray, Bagazine, Deadbeat, Louisiana Voz de Puerto Rico, Prism (New York City), Harpoon and many others
He is also a recurring participant in the Latino Comics Expo.
Crespo"s folk art has appeared in several group and solo shows. He is also the guitarist and front man of the musical group The Nairobi Trio, which has been best described as loud, interpretive Americana (Stooges meet Lightnin" Hopkins).
He plays guitar, slide guitar, lap steel, banjo, ukulele and other instruments for his solo musical endeavors. Crespo presently resides in Northern California with his cat.
