Achievements

• The Construction and Validation of an explanatory model of preeclampsia in pregnant adolescent women, is a line of research that we have developed during little more than 20 years.The results obtained in the different studies that make up this line of research consistently show a higher level of psychosocial stressors and less psychosocial support in the group of adolescents diagnosed with preeclampsia; when compared to the control group.The instruments used to evaluate the psychosocial and psychological conditions of the participants in our studies are validated questionnaires.In order to evaluate the biological stress conditions, we conducted a study in which we measured salivary cortisol to a cohort of 100 pregnant adolescents. The results showed that only the participants who had high cortisol values before week 20 of the gestational process were those who presented preeclampsia.The findings obtained to date suggest plausibly a close relationship between the unfavorable conditions of the psychosocial context of pregnant adolescents with the presence of preeclampsia.

Politics

The attitude towards life depends on a constellation of situations that we live and face in very different ways, the greatest possibility that the members of my generation had, compared with the young people of today, to access education from basic levels to higher education It has represented a condition not only of personal achievement, but of encouraging expectations for the future, expectations that have a tendency to disappear in the current generations. The task that we adults have is to fully comply with the professional and social tasks that lead to the optimal development of current generations both professionally and in their psychological well-being conditions. Although the dominan political class should propitiate the political, economic and social conditions that drive the development of the country through a commitment to the needs of different population groups, the reality is that for decades this has not happened. The participation of the population should be encouraged through different ways to demand that the political class fulfill its duty. The exercise of voting in electoral processes by choosing honest and capable politicians is one of the ways that can accelerate the healthy changes of the ruling political classes.
