The Sidek brothers became the first ever Olympic medalists for their country since first participation at Melbourne 1956. After he retired as badminton player, he established a badminton club to find talented new players, called Nusa Mahsuri Club, which he has been an advisor to since 1996. He was also responsible in grooming the Hashim brothers, Roslin and Hafiz to become Malaysian national badminton players.
