In 1970 James Chan received a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Hong Kong. Three years later he got a Master of Arts degree from the University of Chicago. James also holds a Doctor of Philosophy in the cultural and economic geography of China.
James W. Chan is a Chinese-born American marketing and management consultant. He is the founder and president of Asia Marketing and Management in Philadelphia, where he has worked since 1983. Chan was also a former educator at Boston University and the State University of New York at Cortland. From 1981 to 1983 James worked as a China area manager at Academic Press, Inc. In 1990 he became a director of international operations at Rennoc Corporation and worked there for a year.
James Chan is the author of Spare Room Tycoon, a book on the real-life stories of 40 men and women who have turned their personal visions and passions into successful businesses. He is also the author of the DVD “Secrets of Business Success in China”.
James W. Chan is a consultant to more than 100 organizations.
