Career
Mr. Clapp joined the firm in 1889, and during the 'nineties the partners were chosen architects for the Bowdoin Square Theatre, followed successively by the Tremont Theatre, the Colonial, the Wilbur, and in more recent years the Metropolitan, a moving picture house. Mr. Clapp was also identified with the Tremont Temple, home of the Baptist Church in Boston, begun in 1893, and among the firm’s later works were co-designer of the Little Building and a number of newspaper plants.
