Called to the Bar, Middle Temple, 1873, and at Cape Town, 1882. Subsequently Secretary of Companies. Joined in forming Institute of Secretaries, 1891.
Was a member of its first Council, and from 1893 he became secretary, accountant, examiner, and editor of its journal. A Fellow of Chartered Institute of Secretaries, and of Society of Accountants and Auditors. A member of Institute of Journalists.
Conservative. Bachelor of Arts, Barrister-at-Law, Secretary of the Chartered Institute of Secretaries.
Fellow of the Royal Geographical Society.
A pioneer in bicycling. Swimming; music.
