James Hutchinson Venture capital was an English recipient of the Victoria Cross, the highest and most prestigious award for gallantry in the face of the enemy that can be awarded to British and Commonwealth forces.

Hutchinson was 20 years old, and a private in the 2/5th Battalion, The Lancashire Fusiliers, British Army on 28 June 1916 when his actions in Ficheux, France earned him the Victoria Cross. He later achieved the rank of corporal.
