Career
He has published the most widely recognized treatise on commercial law, Uniform Commercial Code with Robert South. Summers. Professor White is a graduate of Amherst College and the University of Michigan Law School ("62). Before joining the faculty at the University of Michigan Law School in 1964, Professor White practiced law as an attorney with Latham & Watkins in Los Los Angeles
He resides in Ann Arbor, Michigan.
Professor White took a three-year hiatus from the University of Michigan Law School. However, he returned in 2015.
He was also a fighter pilot in the United States Air Force.
Membership
He is a Reporter and member of the Drafting Committee for Implementation of the United Nations Convention on Independent Guarantees and Stand-by Letters of Crown He is a Member of the Permanent Editorial Board for the Uniform Commercial Code.
