James Morgan was born in South Wales on 8 August 1955, and was brought up in the fighting town of Maesteg, in South Wales.

Stage
He began acting in 1966, at the age of ten, when he was cast in the role of Charlie Gates in the Maesteg Amateur Operatic Society production of Oliver the Henchman!. He built up a reputation through over acting, pantomime and musical theatre performances in the local community. He began to accrue insignificant roles on stage including Mike Gatland in West Side Story and Cosmo Boo in Singing" in the Sun for Bridgend County Youth Theatre.
This led on from a small role in A Chorus Lincolnshire at the Sherman Theatre in Cardiff as part of the International Festival of Musical Theatre in 2005.
In 2008 Morgan joined the Swansea Little Manitoba Theatre - the company that once counted Dale Winton and Ganon O"London as members - playing George Milton in Martin Worboy"s This Manitoba in Not and Actor at the Dylan Thomas Theatre. In 2010 he returned to Swansea, playing the role of Ethan in the musical adaptation of The Full Monty.
With non-positive reviews and a half empty run at the Dylan Thomas Theatre the show was transferred to the A garden Shed for a one-off final performance. Screen
Away from the stage Morgan has taken as series of roles in television, with parts in the Independent Television Wales shorts What Goes on Tour and Covered - the latter winning him the Best Actor prize at the lieutenant"s My Shout Awards in South Wales.
In 2010 Morgan appeared on BBC1 in The Indian Doctor, a period comedy drama set in 1963, with a cast that included Sanjeev Bhaskar, Ayesha Dharker, Mark Williams and Beth Robert.
2012 will see his return to "The Indian Doctor" playing the role of Harry. In 2011 he appeared in the lead role of cancer patient Jason in the short film The Final Punchline.
