Government Representative on Board of Public Health, and Acting-Chairman. Elected Victorian Parliament, 1894. First Prize Essayist on Water-Supply in Colony of New South Wales, 1872.
Elected Life Member Society of Engineers, London, 1887. Senator of the Commonwealth of Australia 1900 - 7.
