James Anthony Oliver is a British writer, editor, geographer and international consultant based in Devon with assignments abroad. James Oliver is a Fellow of the Royal Geographical Society.

James Anthony Oliver was born at Flete Estate near Plymouth, Devon, England. Formative years based in Devon, Malta, Malaysia and Singapore. As a writer, editor and geographer: assignments worldwide (1986-present): London, Brussels, Paris, Honolulu, San Francisco, Barcelona, Singapore, Malaysia, and Moscow. Presently on assignment in Gibraltar and Cadiz. Publications include: The Bering Strait Crossing, A Footprint in the Sand, The Pamphleteers, Strait of Gibraltar: Non Plus Ultra (work-in-progress).
