Appointed, 1900, elected, 1901, justice Supreme Court New York. Term expired December 31, 1915. New York State vice president Republican League of the United States, 1888-1889.

President Republican Club, 1892. Member of committee of 30 that reorganized the Republican party in New York Company, and a member committee of 70, in 1894. Commissioner of Grand Boulevard and Concourse, 1895-1900.
