McCampbell, James Boyd was born on September 9, 1936 in Erick, Oklahoma, United States. Son of Harry Robert and Ruth Louise (Toon) McCampbell.


Student, Cameron Junior College, Lawton, Oklahoma, 1954-1956. Graduate Southwestern State University, Weatherford, Oklahoma, 1961.


With United States Department Agriculture Soil Conservation Service, since 1960, farmer, Erick, 1951-1959, conservation technician, Sayre, Oklahoma, 1960-1962, soil conservationist, Walters, Oklahoma, 1963-1966, district conservationist, Ada, Oklahoma, 1966-1972, Norman, Oklahoma, since 1973. Lecturer department environmental design University Oklahoma. Consultant Cities of Norman and Moore, Oklahoma planning departments, engineering firms and land users.


A believer should support social climates, in which human communities are maintained and strengthened for the sake of all persons and their growth.


Every person needs the Church for spiritual and emotional care that enables to reconcile relations with God, with others, and with self.


Member Environmental Control Advisory Board, Norman, since 1979, Community Development Policy Committee, since 1974, Groundwater Development Plan Implementation Procedures Task Force, Norman, 1983. Served with National Guard, 1959-1965. Member Soil Conservation Society of America (president Central Oklahoma chapter 1976), Society Range Management (president Kansas-Oklahoma section 1977-1978), Cleveland County 4-H (honorary), National Rifle Association (life).
