Served through the Indian Mutiny. Present at relief and capture of Lucknow, capture of Meoangunge, and subsequent operations in Oudh (medal and clasp). Jowaki campaign, 1878 (medal and clasp).
Afghan campaign, 1878-1880, action at Matum Khost Valley (despatches), action of Cliarasiab, siege of Sherpur, and actions about Cabul (despatches, medal and two clasps). Decorated for war sendees. Unemployed.
