(The Interdisciplinary Approaches to Chemistry material's ...)
The Interdisciplinary Approaches to Chemistry material's are being developed by high school and college chemistry teacher in the Department of Chemistry, in cooperation with the Science Teaching Center, University of Maryland. Since January of 1970, when area chemistry teachers participating in REACTS (Regional Annual Chemistry Teachers Symposium) Day got their message of the need for changes in high school chemistry forcefully across, an effort has been underway to design and produce a new approach to the study of chemistry. High school teachers and university professors have worked closely together to develop the Interdisciplinary Approaches to Chemistry (IAC) program.
