Advanced through grades to colonel, May 9, 1921. Appointed assistant to the adjutant general, rank of brigadier general, 1929. Major general, the adjutant general, June 1933, term of 4 years.

Retired with rank of major general, October 31, 1935. Now president National Bank of Fort Sam Houston, San Antonio.
