Elected to State Legislature, Bartow Company, 1902-1907. Introduced Measure to establish Georgia State College, of Agriculture, 1904, passed 1906 and appointed member Board of Trustees. Elected chairman of Board, since 1907.

Comnr. of Agriculture of Georgia, appointed by Governor Joseph M. Brown, May 1912. Moderator, Middle Cherokee Baptist Association, 7 yrs.
