Achievements include first to DNA polymerase epsilon, one of the enzymes essential for replicating the chromosomes in all complex organisms. Discovery of herpes simplex virus helicase-primase enzyme, critical for replication of all herpesvirus pathogens. Discovery of inhibitors of the herpes simplex virus helicase primase, first class of antiviral agents that can target viral growth and replication in this way.
Patents for compounds that can be developed into new drugs that treat herpes simplex virus infections. Patents for assays that measure protein-protein interactions for to identify molecules that can disrupt singanling theough TNF receptors. Patents pending for improved assays that can measure binding of glucocorticoids to the glucocorticoid receptor, a key regulator of inflammation in humans.
