Associate editor The Golden Rule, Boston, 1886-1889. Was one of four clergymen in 1891 to make addresses and to plant societies of Christian Endeavor in England. Founded society at old Boston and has made addresses in Jamaica, Hawaii and Alaska.
Lyceum lecturer on topics of social life, travel and reform. Trustee of United Society of Christian Endeavor from the beginning, and has given over 400 convention and anniversary addresses before society of Endeavor. Trustee Grinnell College and member Grinnell Foundation.
