Career
After labouring there for some time returned to Canada, and in 1892 took up the study of engineering at M‘Gill University, Montreal. "received degree of Bachelor of Science with highest honours in 1896. Took post-graduate course in electrical engineering, and was granted scholarship by His (or Her) Majesty’s commission for the exhibition of 1851, the benefit of which was spent-on research work at M‘Gill and Harvard Universities.
Took up practical engineering work in 1899 with the Westinghouse Company in the United States.
Professor of General Engineering in the School of Mining, Queen's University, 1900. Member American Society of Mechanical Engineers.
Associate member Canadian Society of Civil Engineers and American Institute of Electrical Engineers. Professor of Electrical Engineering, School of Mining, Queen's University.
