Has taken a prominent ! part in discussions on Old Age Pensions, and i framed a non - contributory scheme which formed the basis of a plan adopted by the National Conference and presented to the Government. Is one of a small committee meeting the Chancellor of the Exchequer on the subject of State insurance against invalidity, etc. Has written largely on other thrift questions.
Is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Secretaries. Is a public auditor; as an official of the A.O.F. has to change his town 1914 of residence yearly, and during his tenure oi office has resided in twenty-one different towns. Chief Secretaiy ol the Ancient Order of Foresters since 1897.
