Havens, James Smith was born on May 28, 1859 in Weedsport, New York, United States. Son of Dexter E. and Lucy Bell (Smith) Havens.

Career

Admitted to bar, 1886, and began practice at Rochester. Elected to 61st Congress, from 32d New York District, April 19, 1910, for unexpired term (1910-1911), of James Breck Perkins, deceased. Resumed practice of law as member Havens & Havens.

Assistant treasurer, May 1918. Vice president in charge legal department and secretary, October 1919, Eastman Kodak Company.
