Admitted to Michigan bar, 1874, and began practice with firm of Atkinson & Atkinson. Formed Trowbridge & Keena, later Keena & Lightner, now Keena, Lightner, Oxtoby & Hanley. Retired from practice 1914, upon being elected vice president Peoples State Bank.

Elected president same bank, 1916, Chairman of the Board, 1919. Director and member Executive Committee Standard Accident Insurance Company. Director Standard Loan & Investment Company, Union Trust Company.
