Ordained to ministry, Methodist Episcopal Church, South, 1870. Pastor of churches in Georgia at Rockmart, Long Cane, Carrolton, Dalton, Rome, and Atlanta. Transferred 1893 to St. Louis, Missouri (United States.), becoming pastor St. John’s Church.
Head of an expedition to Palestine, 1894, sent out in company with artist K. E. M. Bain to secure material for an illustrated book on the Earthly Footsteps of Christ and His Apostles. Presiding Elder St. Louis District, 1897-1901: Pastor St. John’s, I second time, 1901-1905. Georgia (U.S.).
