This book was originally published prior to 1923, and represents a reproduction of an important historical work, maintaining the same format as the original work. Licentiate in Midwifery Rotunda. Fellow of the Zoological Society. Fellow of the Royal Geographical Society.
Member Royal Institute of Public Health. Entered Army Medical Department, 1891. Served with Dongola exped.
1896 (medal); selected for service with the Egyptian army, January 1897. Nile expedition, 1897-1899. Present at attack on Shendy, and battle of Khartoum (despatches, 2 clasps, 4th class Medjidieh).
Gedaref Relief Force, 1898 (clasp), defeat of Ahmed Fedil’s army, Rosaires, 26 December 1898 (Gedaref clasp, despatches, Companion of the Distinguished Service Order). Was senior Medical Officer of Blue Nile District, Soudan, 189S-99. Served in South Africa, 1899-1902.
Present at battles of Tugela Heights and Relief of Ladysmith in medical charge of 2nd West Yorkshire Regiment, and action of Laing’s Nek (despatches, Queen’s medal with 5 clasps, and King’s medal with 2 clasps). Specially selected for service with the Abyssinian Army against the Mullah, 1908-1904 (despatches, medal and clasp). Serving on Army Headquarter Staff, India, 1905-1907.
Decorated for services at Rosaires. Companion of the Distinguished Service Order 1899; Royal Army Medical Corps.
