Čepelová spent most of her 2012 year on the International Tennis Federation Tour. She qualified for the main draw by beating 18th seed Alla Kudryavtseva 7-6(5),6-3.

At the Family Circle Cup in Charleston, Jana enjoyed a very successful tournament, beating a field which included Serena Williams, Daniela Hantuchová and Belinda Bencic before losing to Andrea Petkovic in the final.

At the 2015 Wimbledon Championships, Čepelová upset World Number 3 Simona Halep in the 1st round 5-7,6-4,6-3. Čepelová was only ranked World Number 106, so that is 104 places lower than Halep"s ranking. In the 2nd round, Čepelová lost to Monica Niculescu 6-3,6-3.
As a junior, she won the girls" doubles event at the 2010 Australian Open with Chantal Škamlová. She also has won five singles and three doubles titles on the International Tennis Federation Women"s Circuit. Her best achievement on the Women's Tennis Association Tour was at the 2012 Wimbledon Championships.
