Janice Eidus was born on November 13, 1951, in the Bronx. She is a daughter of Ruth and Arthur Eidus.
Janice Eidus studied at Johns Hopkins University where she received a Master of Arts degree.
Janice Eidus started her career as a writer when she was at the age of 20. She published her poems in literary journals. Then Eidus began to write short fiction and novels. Her first book was Faithful Rebecca, which was published in 1986. Later she published The Celibacy Club, Vito Loves Geraldine. Her last works are The War Of The Rosens and The Last Jewish Virgin.
Janice Eidus also worked as a teacher and taught at such universities as Carlow University, the University of New Orleans, and The New School. Besides, Eidus participates in writers' conferences all over the world. She visited the Writers Workshop of San Miguel de Allende, Mexico, Sanibel Island Writers Conference and the Chautauqua Writers Conference. She is also a private writing coach.
